Drape plays with contrasts and with this in mind, a moulded plywood shell is “hung” over the rigid structural frame similar to a loose cloth.
 

The structure of Drape is made of solid wood, giving it a strong, sturdy support, while the seat is made using moulded plywood. With the bending angle of the seat determined, the rest of the other parts of the chair was then put together to give its final form. The sides of the seat are also intentionally exposed, to bring out the detailing of the union between the masculinity of the structure and the softness of the moulded plywood.
